Support a Good Cause The American Cancer Society Relay for Life June 13, 2009 The American Cance Society Beech Grove Relay for life will be held at the Beech Grove middle school at the corner of 13th and Main Street in Beech Grove, Indiana. This 24-hour event to raise funds for the American Cancer Society will begin on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 9 a.m. and conclude on Sunday June 14, 2009 at 9 a.m Jim Kirk is our team captain and he needs your help! PHINdy will be an active participant again this year coordinating a team of walkers, a food sale tent and camp out for those club members/friends/family who want to stay overnight. Sue Rearick is coordinating the PHINdy volunteer effort including set up on the evening of Friday, 6/12/2009, activities throughout the 24-hour relay and also for tear down on Sunday morning at the conclusion of the event. Please contact Sue if you are available to help during the weekend events. The Alzheimer 2009 Memory Walk October 11, 2009 The Alzheimer 2009 Memory Walk will be held at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium downtown Indianapolis on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. Kim Stegemiller will captain the PHINdy team of walkers and coordinate our fundraising efforts for the event. You can register to join the team, sponsor a fellow Parrot Head or make a donation to the team at the memory walk PHINdy team page. You can contact Kim for more information. Club News Pre-Party Announcement - PREEZCOOL 2009 PREEZCOOL 2009- All New Location, Activities and Schedule for the ultimate pre-party for the 8/11/2009 Indy Buffett Show!! The tent party starts at 2 p.m. at the Cambria Suites, 13500 Teglar Drive, Noblesville. Food will be catered by Grill-N-Go from 3-5 p.m. Music and games will run throughout the afternoon. This year we have a grassy area for the tent, food and party. Please bring your own lawn chairs and beverage of choice (alcohol is permitted). We will have a private meet and greet with members of the Coral Reefer Band sometime during the pre-party afternoon. So far we have confirmations from Doyle Grisham and Nadirah Shakoor. They will be signing autographs, posing for photos, and will even have some special CDs and such for sale. Shuttle transportation to and from the Verizon Wireless Music Center as well as parking for registered party goers will be provided at the brand new/under construction Cambria Suites Noblesville. A limited number of rooms are also available for the Parrot Head rate of $99 by calling 317-773-4970. You need to ask for LouAnne since she is coordinating our event and the hotel is not scheduled for completion until early July. The hotel is located within 1 mile of the concert venue so walking would be a possibility (for those who can and/or want to make the hike and maneuver around the traffic). This year we have added a post concert party with food provided at the host hotel. There will also be a cash bar available for the pholks not driving away after the show.
